To decongest the nose take a small breath in through the nose, then a small breath out, then gently pinch the nose shut and pause your breath.
When you feel a strong urge to breathe, take a slow controlled inhale through the nose, or with pursed lips, and continue to breathe in a smooth and controlled manner for up to 45 seconds.
Repeat 6 times.
Holding your breath in this way builds up C02 in the blood.
This naturally relaxes the blood vessels and increases blood flow, also known as vasodilation, and helps to open up the airways.
Vasodilation also helps to shift around mucus in the sinus cavities.
Repeat this exercise anytime you need to decongest your nose.
