There is a real-life pet detective in China, but his name is not Ace Ventura (although that would be awesome). 

His name is Sun Jinrong and he is the real deal. In his 7 year career, he has reunited over 1,000 animals with their families. 

His arsenal includes some pretty hi-tech gadgets including thermal imaging cameras, heat sensors, and snake cams. 

Although there are now numerous competitors, when Sun started his business he was the first in all of China.

Dog ownership was illegal until the mid ’90s in China, where there are now over 90 million household pets and counting. As a result, Sun is a very busy man.
