A world-renown Swiss nightclub has pivoted to the business of donating blood.

Due to covid-19 restrictions, Swiss nightclub MAD has been shut down for the last 10 months. But recently, they have turned the club into a temporary blood donation center.

Chandeliers that typically shine mood lighting on sweaty club-goers are now lighting up registered nurses listening to Queen and taking blood.

Former regulars of the club are making their way to support the good cause. “I came without question because it is a legendary place,” says Olivier Rebel.

And the staff seems in high spirits feeling like they have a newfound purpose.

“It was almost heartbreaking to see a place like this which has existed for almost 35 years asleep for so long,” says manager Igor Blaska. “So of course we were proud to organize any activity that was possible.”

Talk about properly turning it up for a good cause. Thanks for inspiring us, Club MAD!
