Guy Fieri and Bill Murray Will Compete in Live Nacho-Making Contest for Charity
The Mayor of Flavortown (Guy Fieri) and The Mythical Man (Bil Murray) are going head to head…in a nacho making contest.
Sounds about right.
“The Nacho-Average Showdown” is a live event set up to raise money for the Restaurant Employee Relief Fund (RERF), which gives financial assistance to food industry employees affected by business closures.
The Fund provides restaurant workers with $500 grants and 100% of all donations from the showdown will go directly to RERF. About 8 million restaurant workers are currently unemployed.
It’s hard to determine who has the upper hand going into the faceoff:
Fieri has worked his entire life in the restaurant industry and has sampled the most epic foods from all over the country.
Bill has been known to show up at random restaurants, wander into the kitchen, and just start working.
The tortilla-chip-challenge is set to go down on May 15h, 5 pm ET and will be streamed live on the Food Network’s Facebook page. The event boasts two very qualified judges; basketball superstar and big-man legend Shaquille O’Neil, and actor Terry Crews. It will be hosted by Chef Carla Hall.
We got 10 bucks on Bill.
