We’re on our phones a lot. Accessing information, creating and sharing media, connecting with the world, and looking at memes.
Ok, mostly just looking at memes.
This relatively new shift in the way we connect with each other has most of us feeling a little lonely.
Instead of yelling at each other on Facebook or scrounging about for likes on Instagram, what if we all took a second to make a stranger smile?
Text For Humanity is a new project from Mental Health America and Sinch communications. It’s the first-of-its-kind texting switchboard that allows people to anonymously send and receive positive text messages from strangers around the world.
Mental Health America CEO and president Paul Gionfriddo said: “We know there is a lot of negativity online these days—and by taking a minute to deliver a simple, positive message to someone who may need it, each of us can help brighten someone’s day and lift up their overall mental well-being.”
