Loving-kindness meditation is a goal orientated meditation. The goal is to feel loving-kindness for oneself and others. It’s an attempt to re-write your state of mind.
We often think about ourselves and others in a critical way. We notice flaws, rehearse our disappointments, or make judgements. This can put us in a poor state of mind.
This meditation is designed to adopt a different pattern of thinking. The thoughts that are produced during this meditation are focused on experiencing as much well-being as possible.
And you’ll learn that it can put you a completely different state of mind. One that is present and focused and compassionate towards others. One that has the ability to listen and learn and be happy in the moment.
