These journal prompts are designed to cultivate positive emotions which are the building blocks of emotional resilience.
Make this exercise your own, the prompts below are just there to help you. You could write your responses in a diary format, as a story, a poem; really anyway you want to.
The point of this exercise is to open ourselves up to positive emotions and spend a little bit of time feeling happy.
Make sure you date the page before you begin, that way you can look back and see how your feelings have changed over time.
Let’s get started:
What was one of the happiest moments you’ve had in the past year? Write about it in as great of detail as you can.
- When was it?
- Where were you?
- What were you doing?
- What was the weather like?
- Who were you with?
- What emotions or feelings did you feel?
Now, write about a happy moment you want to have in the future. Use the same questions as prompts to go into as much detail as you can.
- When will it be?
- Where will you be?
- Who will be there?
- What will the weather and setting be like?
- What emotions or feelings do you want to feel?
Feel free to share your answers with us either in the comments or by shooting us an email at team@bluedoormedia.co.
