Working from home in your sweatpants and snacking on a PB&J sandwich while ‘The Office’ plays in the background might sound awesome.
But, a change in work environment doesn’t mean productivity has to go out the window.
Here are 4 tips to crush your WFM life.
Dress the part. Full-on attire might not be necessary, but getting dressed for the day is an important part of the mental shift into work mode. Although your morning routine might be shaken up a little bit, this can be a grounding staple of your normal workflow. Also, you never know who might request a video chat.
Dedicate a workspace. You don’t need an in-home office to do this; just try to avoid working from your bed. Having a dedicated space will limited distractions, and boost your focus and creativity. Don’t be afraid to customize; toss up some artwork, pictures, or a Himalayan salt lamp, if that’s your jam.
Stick to the plan. It can be really easy to slip into the sheets for a quick nap after that 1:30 meeting. Make sure you draw up a daily schedule for yourself and stick to it. Give yourself some breaks, but be consistent in your planning just as if you were in the office. You’ve got goals; don’t get in your own way of hitting them.
Stock up on the good stuff. Snacking when working from home is…inevitable. Set yourself up for success by grabbing some brain-boosting munchies; almonds, beans, broccoli, berries, carrots, avocados, etc. Check out this list for some brain-healthy snack recipes. Your brain will thank you!
