We’re constantly researching how to be happier, healthier, and satisfied. That’s kind of the point of life, right? One of the things that really brings us joy, is sharing what we’ve learned with the people that matter.
That’s you, in case you were wondering.
These two methods have helped us rewire our brains to be more present and find joy in the moment. We think they’ll do the same for you.
1. Immerse Yourself in a Practice
Practice makes perfect, we all know that. Any activity you enjoy doing, not for a specific outcome, but for the sake of just doing the activity, is a practice.
Actively engaging in an activity this way removes nervousness and anxiety associated with your past failures, or future stresses. You practice because you enjoy it. It’s that simple.
2. Find Flow
You may have heard of a “flow state” before. It is a feeling of energized focus, full involvement, and enjoyment in the process. The process can literally be anything, from cycling or walking, to more “mundane” tasks like cleaning the dishes.
While we often complete these tasks on a sort of auto-pilot, the truth is that there is enjoyment to be had in the seemingly boring tasks we go through everyday.
We can create flow in everyday life by imagining all the positives related to the things we are currently doing.
Combining these two methods together is a legitimate recipe for happiness which, in the end, is what it’s all about.
